What is this policy for?

We pride ourselves on taking an ethical stance in the way we conduct our business, workforce, and candidates. We take our legal responsibilities under the varied acts and regulations we are required to comply with as an employment business/agency, including but not limited to The Conduct Regulations (Amended) 2016, very seriously and these form the basis for our policies and procedures, as well as the moral code of conduct that we believe should be applied at all times throughout the business.

Who is this policy for?

This policy applies to all of our employees and workers.

 Ethical Trading

This Ethical Trading Policy arises from our belief that we should act in the best interest of our workers at all times and the provisions within constitute the minimum standards we believe are necessary to afford protection to our workers in line with the relevant legislation.

Employment is feely chosen

There is no forced labour and flexible employees or temporary workers are able to freely select or reject assignments and are not restricted to working solely.

Freedom of association

All workers, without distinction, have the right to join or form trade unions of their own choosing and to bargain collectively. We adopt an open attitude towards the activities of trade unions and their organisational activities and will endeavour to facilitate payment of memberships for such unions via your salary if required by making the appropriate deductions. We do not and shall not discriminate against workers who choose to be a member of a union.

Safe and hygienic working conditions

We shall provide a safe and hygienic working environment for you. Where you work at a third party site, we shall work closely with the third party to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment is provided.  Should you believe that a third party site does not meet these criteria, you are entitled to reject the assignment on this basis and we will raise this with the third party and work towards a resolution.

We ensure that we minimise the risk, as far as reasonably practicable, of accident or injury in our workplace.

We provide health and safety induction training to you and we ensure that our clients provide health and safety training where you are assigned to their site.

Child labour shall not be used

At any time, we will not use child labour. Where a person under 18 is to be employed or placed as a temporary worker with a third party, we shall first confirm with the third party that their permission is granted and will ensure all legislative requirements are met.

Minimum wage is paid

All pay rates and salaries will be appropriate to the role being carried out, and in any case will meet the rates determined by law by way of National Minimum and National Living Wage. Your pay shall always be communicated in writing before an assignment or period of employment begins, and the particulars of wages shall be communicated for the pay period concerned each time they are paid. Where deductions from salary are made, these may only be made under national law or where you have expressly given permission.

We will not charge you unnecessary fees for services such as payroll, translation, etc. nor inflate costs for necessary licences or certificates required to carry out work.

Working hours are not excessive

Working hours will comply with all national laws and will not exceed 48 hours per week (excluding overtime, which is all voluntary and never mandated) unless you opt out at your own discretion. In any case, working hours may not exceed 60 hours over any 7 day period and you shall be provided with at least one day off in every seven day period.

No discrimination

We operate a separate policy on Equal Opportunities and ensures there is no discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination, or retirement based on race, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation.

You are selected for assignment or employment on the basis of your skills, suitability, experience, and availability.

Regular employment

We will provide regular employment to you if you are a permanent employee on the basis of a recognised employment relationship established through national law and practice.

For temporary workers, there is no obligation for us to provide work.

No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

Harsh or inhumane treatment is strictly forbidden and if you encounter verbal or physical abuse; harassment; intimidation or any form threatening behaviour in the workplace, you will be given our full support to take appropriate action.
