Job title: Engineering Manager

Working hours: Monday to Friday (07:30 - 16:30)

Location: Howden/Market Weighton area, with some travel to Northern Ireland

Salary: up to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a hands on Engineering Manager to ensure seamless production operations within the factory. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing a team while being actively involved in the work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and support engineering team to meet KPIs aligned with business goals.
  • Manage recruitment, retention, and development of team members.
  • Prioritise and delegate engineering tasks for efficiency.
  • Maintain plant, equipment, and systems according to legislation.
  • Address and resolve issues impacting plant or equipment performance.
  • Develop a cost-effective engineering stores system.
  • Promote industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, company policies, and GMP.
  • Control waste, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety and hygiene standards.
  • Complete daily records and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with senior management and drive personal development.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance and safety systems.
  • Responsible for machinery efficiency and H&S compliance.
  • Be on-call for out-of-hours issues.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • 16th/17th Edition qualification.
  • Practical engineering experience in mechanical/electrical fields.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Food hygiene qualification.
  • Experience as an Engineering Manager in a food environment.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH qualification.
