Hours: circa 48 hours per week - 5 days out of 7 based on your rota, must be flexible to work on weekends and bank holidays
Location: Market Weighton/ Howden/ York area
Pay rate: £35,000-£45,000 DOE

Job Overview:
As a Grower Manager you will be overseeing the Growing team, reporting to the Growing Consultant and Operations Director. Ensure the smooth operation of the site, the growing process, and on-time delivery of products in line with food safety and customer quality standards.
Not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure all growing houses are filled, transferred, and emptied according to KPIs.
- Train new team members on disease control and pest management.
- Participate in daily farm walks and weekly planning meetings with the Growing Consultant.
- Oversee crop husbandry, pest scouting, and climate control strategies.
- Enforce health and safety standards and ensure compliance with food safety and GMP guidelines.
- Support harvesting supervisors during peak times and report KPI figures at monthly meetings.
- Drive personal development through training.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in crop production, ideally with soft fruit or other horticultural crops.
- Passionate about growing food and keen to take responsibility for decisions.
- Flexible with working hours and has strong communication and IT skills.
- A background in agriculture, preferably with a degree in agriculture or horticulture.
- Hardworking, with a desire to build a career in farm management or fresh produce.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong management, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience in a busy growing environment.
- Confident in delegating tasks and handling tight deadlines.
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Food hygiene and HACCP qualifications.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous grower experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with BRC standards and retailer audit protocols.
- Degree in agriculture or horticulture.
